Managing and Communicating Controversy

Mission: Equip teams to handle a “clear and present danger.” The session is highly tuned to the exact event(s) which could, if not addressed properly, erode an organization’s reputation. Multiple events can be accommodated in the same communication lab, meaning some individuals work on community issues, while others work with regulatory, legislative, media, and legal issues.

Significant Work:

Research: In on-site interviews, a senior consultant will dig for the issues which would not play well on tomorrow's front page — especially when the newspaper hits a regulator's or legislator's desk in the morning. In addition, we will identify all priority stakeholders who must be addressed to achieve success in forthcoming events.

Level of Effort: In addition to strategic advice and analysis, at least 2 phases of issue-oriented communication labs conducted during a 3-month period are recommended:
